Personal
During my time in the television industry, I gained experience in a variety of fields.
At the CBS affiliate in San Angelo my first job was serving as an evening director for the live news broadcasts. I then moved into producing industrial videos and commercial advertisements. This involved everything from writing, videotaping, and editing. Eventually, I moved into the news, serving as the morning news and weather anchor. During my time in news I covered the largest custody hearing in the nation involving more than 300 children from the FLDS compound in Eldorado and flew with the Air Force Thunderbirds (pulling 9.3 Gs without passing out!)
While I loved my job, I began looking for a more "family friendly" career. As a senior member of the news room I trained a number of beginning reporters, so the transition to the teaching field has been a good one.
I enjoy my students and watching their excitement as they learn how to create special effects.
I have been married for 9 yrs and have 2 daughters, ages 7 and 4.
