|As camp director Leta Andrews shares her experience of teaching, coaching and motivating young girls with her campers. Through her 50 years of coaching, Leta has achieved much success with her basketball teams and reached many milestones personally. As a player for the Granbury Lady Pirates, Leta reached the State Finals twice and was named All-State. |
Between Comanche, Calallen and Granbury, she has won 35 District Titles, made 15 appearances at the State Tournament, and won the Class 4A State Championship in 1990. In 1993, Leta was voted The Walt Disney Teacher of the Year. On December 7, 2010, she became the Winningest High School Basketball Coach in the nation!
Coach Andrews has been inducted in both the Texas Sports Hall of Fame and the National Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame. She continues to share her love of life and the game of basketball with not only her athletes, but also anyone around her.
Each Girl Receives:

Camp Time: Daily – 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Skills Taught: Ball-handling, pivoting, rebounding, blocking out, shooting (right and left lay-ups, set shots, jump shots), passing, dribbling, individual and team defense and offense, game situations in scrimmage sessions.
Limited Enrollment: Because enrollment is limited, camp reservation will be accepted as they are received. Applicants are urged to mail registrations early to ensure the session of your choice. Last year we had to turn away some applicants because of limited space, so please get your registration in early. Applicants will receive a written confirmation upon receipt of their application and deposit.
Age Requirement: For girls who will be in grades 3 – 12, Fall of 2014.
Equipment Needed: Tennis shoes, shorts, T-shirts, & a brown bag lunch for each day.
Purpose of Camp: To offer area youth basketballers an opportunity to receive concentrated and expert training without traveling hundreds of miles and paying hundreds of dollars. There will be individual instruction and group instruction daily. Special attention will also be given to the development of self-confidence, a positive mental attitude, and motivation.
