Head Football Coach Chad Zschiesche
Chad Zschiesche is the new head coach for the Granbury Pirate football team after his appointment was made official by the Granbury ISD Board of Trustees during a special meeting on June 24, 2016.
“We had many outstanding candidates for our coaching position. After an extensive interview process, Coach Zschiesche was our selection for many reasons. He has coached at all levels, from junior high to varsity, and in small and large schools,” commented superintendent Dr. James Largent.
Zschiesche was the offensive coordinator for Mansfield Summit High School before moving to Byron Nelson High School this spring in the same role to follow his mentor, Coach Travis Pride. At Summit, he helped the Jaquars reach the playoffs in five of the past six seasons, with the team finishing 2015 with a 10-2 record overall while ranking among the top ten teams in the state.
“Having coached for fifteen years, I have developed a strong understanding of the loyalty, vigor, dedication, and time required to be exceptional,” the coach remarked.
The new head coach began his career at GHS in 2001 before moving to Hico, where he was offensive coordinator and head baseball coach from 2002-2006. He then spent three years at Wichita Falls High School coaching offensive linemen and powerlifters.
A native of Plainview, Zschiesche holds a Bachelor of Science in both exercise/sports studies and biology from Tarleton State University, where he later earned a master’s degree in physical education.
