Superintendent Ron Mayfield

Ron Mayfield became the Superintendent of Granbury ISD in May 2009. He is retiring in June 2012.

Mayfield previously led the school districts in Reagan County (2000-2005) and Fort Stockton (2005-2009). His prior educational service was as an assistant superintendent, principal, and assistant principal in Lamesa. Mayfield began his career as a vocational agriculture teacher working in Loraine, Amherst, and Lamesa.

The superintendent maintains membership in several education organizations, including the Texas Association of School Administrators that included five years as a regional representative on the Commissioner of Education’s cabinet. He is also active with the legislative committee of the Texas Association of Community Schools.

Mayfield is a member of the Granbury Rotary Club and began serving on the Granbury Chamber of Commerce's board of directors in January 2011.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Education and a Master of Education from Texas Tech University.

Mayfield and his wife, Suzan, have two children and five grandchildren. They are members of Acton Baptist Church.
