Bad Weather Notification Procedures
As we approach the winter season, we may experience inclement weather that could possibly cause our schools to open late or to close. The following procedures will be followed if this becomes necessary.
In addition, the decision will be sent to the news media, including the Hood County News, KPIR Radio, Granbury TV (Channel 27 on Charter Cable), and major regional television and radio stations. Granbury ISD cannot guarantee that the media will report the decision. Thus, it is wise to check multiple media sources as well as refer to the GISD website.
In the event the school opening is delayed, the notice will be given as an amount of time, i.e. "School will start 2 hours late." This sample message indicates that all schedules, including buses, will be operating two hours later than the normal operating time.
Our primary concern is for the safety of our students and staff. If your child is tardy due to hazardous roads, please contact your child's principal and an excused tardy/absence will be issued.
