Four graduating seniors were among the Lady Pirate volleyball team members recognized at the final home game on October 18, 2011.
The seniors are Laiken Britt, Madison Martin, Kathryn Middlebook, and Sierra Smith, who are all introduced with their parents. Also recognized was senior statistician Justin Washburn.
Underclassmen were also recognized with their parents. They are Alexis Carpenter, Sydney Carpenter, Blair Cowden, Aubrey Ezell, Shannon Helm, Paige Holt, Amy Mendoza, and Jenna Underwood. Katie Siegler, a student athletic trainer, was honored as well.
The girls defeated district rival Cleburne at the game, improving to 11-1 in District 7-4A play. They have posted eleven straight wins and have secured a spot in the playoffs.
For the game, in lieu of admission, fans and spectators donated over $1,000 to Hood County Christmas for Children, a local charitable organization which provides Christmas gifts and bicycles each December to children from families with economic need.
Following Tuesday's game, the girls will finish the regular season on the road at Crowley on October 21 and at Joshua on October 25.
