After advancing to the Class 4A regional quarterfinals for the third straight year, the Lady Pirate volleyball team ended their season with a banquet on November 28, 2011, at Granbury Resort Conference Center.
The three-game playoff run included the Lady Pirates winning victories over Killeen and Saginaw Boswell before falling to Trophy Club Byron Nelson. It marked the third consecutive year that the Lady Pirates competed in the regional quarterfinals.
Head coach Tammy Clark handed out the following team awards:
Leading District 7-4A honors were player of the year Madison Martin, outstanding defensive player Sierra Smith, and newcomer of the year Aubrey Ezell. Players selected for all-district teams were:
Letter awards also went to team members: three years – Laiken Britt, Sierra Smith; two years - Shannon Helm, Paige Holt, Madison Martin, Kathryn Middlebrook; first year – Alexis Carpenter, Sydney Carpenter, Blair Cowden, Amy Mendoza, Jenna Underwood.
Kathryn Middlebrook was recognized as Academic All-State. She and the rest of the varsity squad all had been honored as Academic All-District.
For the junior varsity squad, awards were presented by coach Jennifer Moss to offensive players of the year Kali Jones and Kylie Wheeler, defensive player of the year Caitlyn Thatcher, and rookie of the year Madison Miller. The Will to Win award went to Brittany Blake. Rounding out the JV team were Nikki Granath, Kady Hare, Macarty Hawker, Courtney Heathington, Tori Mayer, and Sydney Teeter.
Freshman players were also recognized by coaches Jesse Kulczycki and Mallory Smith:
