Madison Martin’s high school volleyball days weren’t quite over.

The Granbury High School graduate, who earned her high school diploma in May, played in the Texas Girls Coaches Association’s All-Star volleyball game on July 11, 2012, at Arlington Lamar High School.

Martin was a member of the West all-star team for the game featuring standouts from Class 4A and 5A schools. The West all-stars swept the East 25-15, 26-24, and 25-13. The former Lady Pirate has several key kills and served aces on the final two points of the match to help her squad to victory.

As a second-year varsity letterman, Martin was named All-State by the TGCA. She earned several district and team honors during her two years on the varsity squad, while helping the Lady Pirates advance to the Class 4A regional quarterfinals both years.

As a senior, she was named District 7-4A player of the year as well as the team’s most valuable player. During her junior year in 2010, she earned second-team all-district honors as well as rookie of the year accolades for the team.

The former GHS standout will soon be a Warhawk, playing for the University of Louisiana at Monroe, a NCAA Division I school that competes in the Sun Belt Conference.
