July 30, 2012
The Granbury ISD Community Education Office will be offering a driver’s education class beginning on Tuesday, September 4, 2012.
The classroom portion will be held from 4:30-6:30 P.M. each weekday in the Lecture Room at Granbury High School. Curtis Allen will be the instructor for the session, which will last four to six weeks.
In order to qualify for the course, students must be 15 years old before the class ends and must have attended school for a minimum of 80 days the previous semester before the class start date. There is a limit to 36 students per class.
Priority will be given to Granbury ISD students. Those who are not enrolled with GISD have the option of being placed on a waiting list, and, if room is available by the class start date, they will be notified of acceptance into the class. To be put on the waiting list, applicants must submit the registration form and payment. If space is not available for the student in the class, they will be able to pick up the registration form along with the form of payment.
Registration forms should be completed and signed by a parent or legal guardian and returned to the GISD Community Education Office with the $275 enrollment fee. Forms are available in the offices of Granbury High School, Crossland Ninth Grade Center, and the Community Education Office. In addition, forms are also available on the Granbury ISD website at www.granburyisd.org/driversed.
Registration is currently being accepted at the community education office, which is in the GISD Administration Building located at 600 W. Pearl Street. The office will accept applications Monday through Friday from 8:00 A.M.-4:00 P.M.
