Granbury Pirate football players will kick off practices at one minute after midnight on Monday, August 13, 2012.
The midnight practice, which includes players in grades 10-12, will be part of a busy day for the team.
Players may report to the field house starting at 11:00 P.M. on Sunday, August 12 to begin equipment sizing. All student athletes must have a completed athletic physical form on file in order to receive any football equipment and to participate in practice.
Later Monday, incoming freshmen will first practice beginning at 6:00 P.M. The students may report to the field house beginning at 5:30 P.M. for equipment sizing, and athletic physical forms must be on file. Pictures for the ninth graders will follow their practice.
Two Touchdown Club fundraiser kickoff meetings will be held that night in the Pirate Pavilion - 8:00 P.M. for freshmen and 8:30 P.M. for grades 10-12. Among the items for discussion include G Card sales, which provide cardholders with discounts to several local businesses. The cards will be on sale August 13-18. Parents are welcome to attend the fundraiser kickoff.
Pictures for all players in grades 10-12 will follow the fundraising meeting.
Beginning on Tuesday, August 14, all squads will have early morning practices beginning at 7:00 A.M. Coaches may modify the schedule as necessary.
The Pirates will travel to Stephenville for scrimmages on Friday, August 24 at Tarleton Memorial Stadium.
