The Granbury ISD band program is welcoming several new directors beginning in the 2012-13 school year. The three new directors will be leading bands at the middle schools and will be assisting the Granbury High School band.
Joining the staff are Josh Hawks and Alan Chrzanowski at Granbury Middle School along with Gentry Ragsdale at Acton Middle School.
“We are very blessed to be welcoming some very talented and dedicated music educators to our band staff,” commented GHS band director Mark Eastin, who is assisted at the high school by percussionist Tahlequah Kirk.
Hawks will be the lead director at GMS. He most recently worked in the Wills Point school district, where his bands were consistent sweepstakes winners. The high school band there also advanced to the UIL state marching contest. A graduate of Texas A&M University at Commerce, Hawks will assist with woodwinds and visual design during marching season.
Also at GMS will be Chrzanowski, a recent graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington. He has been on the teaching staff of The Calavier’s Drum and Bugle Corps and will be assisting the high school with brass and visual design.
Joining John Morgan at AMS is Ragsdale – also a recent UTA graduate. She has spent time in Mansfield ISD as well as her own private lesson studio. Ragsdale will assist with woodwinds during marching season.
In addition to the three new directors, Nick Godoy will serve as the band’s colorguard specialist.
