Granbury ISD is seeking volunteers among parents, community members, and business representatives interested in serving on the District Advisory Council for the 2012-13 school year.
The superintendent regularly consults the District Advisory Council in the planning, operation, supervision, and evaluation of the school district's educational programs. The council consists of teachers and other professionals representing each campus as well as district administration.
Four meetings will be held in October, December, February, and May during the school year. The meetings begin at 4:30 P.M. and are held in the GISD Board Room next to the Administration Building at 600 W. Pearl Street.
There are openings on the council for four parents, two community members, and two business representatives.
The requirements for these positions, which are established by state law and district policy, are:
- Parents must have a student currently enrolled in Granbury ISD.
- Community members must reside within Granbury ISD and be at least 18 years of age. These individuals may not be parents.
- Business representatives are not required to reside or operate a business within Granbury ISD.
- GISD employees may not fill these positions.
Applications are due in the superintendent’s office on Friday, September 14.
