They have been to the Class 4A regional quarterfinals the past three years. But the Lady Pirate volleyball team is hoping to extend their playoff success in 2012.

The Lady Pirate defeated all seven schools in the round-robin district play in 2011, earning the District 7-4A title and posting a perfect 13-1 district record. The three-game playoff run included victories over Killeen and Saginaw Boswell before falling to Trophy Club Byron Nelson.

The girls defeated San Angelo Lake View and Springtown in the 2010 postseason just prior to a loss to Aledo – now a district rival.

In 2009, the girls made their first post-season appearance since 1996. The quarterfinal defeat to Denton Ryan followed playoff wins over Fort Worth Dunbar and The Colony.

"I am excited to see this new group play to their potential and grow as a team," commented head coach Tammy Clark.  "We have strength and depth in all the positions.  It should be a great experience this season."
