SPEAKER TO PRESENT PARENT PROGRAM ON STUDENT CHARACTER EDUCATION

April 28, 2010

Justin LookadooParents of Granbury students in grades 6-12 are invited to hear a nationally recognized speaker present a program on student character education.  The program will begin at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, May 6, 2010, in the Granbury Middle School cafetorium.

Justin Lookadoo, a North-Texas based speaker, will present “Dateable:  It’s a Character Thing.”  He will discuss parents’ roles in their adolescent’s life at a challenging time as well as the boundaries that should be set to help develop a teenager who is confident and secure to stand alone.  The focus is to instill character and confidence in students and to help them understand that the word “dateable” is not necessarily about getting a date – but about doing what is right.

The parent program will review information presented earlier that week to students at Acton Middle School, Crossland Ninth Grade Center, Granbury Middle School, and STARS Academy.

A lively and entertaining speaker, Lookadoo has spent much of his adult life focusing on the issues all youth face in today’s world.  More information about the speaker and his program is available online at www.lookadoo.com.
