“Shimbermetimbers! This food is good” will be the new slogan for the Granbury ISD school breakfast program. Jamie Bebbe, a first grader at Acton Elementary School, submitted the winning entry in a recent slogan contest.
The contest was held during National School Breakfast Week on March 8-12. “The main focus behind the contest was to encourage the students to eat a healthy breakfast preferably at school,” commented assistant child nutrition director Bobbie Brady. “Statistics indicate students and adults benefit from a healthy breakfast.”
Bebbe was named the grand prize winner among numerous entries. A drawing that she submitted will be featured on the elementary menu calendar next year. She will also receive a portable Playstation donated by sponsor General Mills.
Campus winners were: Vincent Atalig, Crossland Ninth Grade Center; Montana Diaz, Acton Elementary School; Nathan Gibson, Roberson Elementary School; Jonathan Hammond, Mambrino School; Terry Parsons, Acton Middle School; Ruby Point, Granbury Middle School; Nicole Rickenbrode, Baccus Elementary School; and Michael Tate, Brawner Intermediate School.
