LADY PIRATES COMPETE AT REGIONAL GOLF TOURNAMENT

The Lady Pirate golf team placed tenth at Class 4A Region I tournament held April 20-21, 2011, at Diamondback Golf Club in Abilene.

The five-member team shot 807 over the two-day tournament. The girls shot 409 on the first day and then shaved eleven strokes to 398 on the second day.

Team members were seniors Katie Carpenter and Alyssa Gapinski, junior Chelsy Childress, sophomore Natalie Willingham, and freshman Birkley Langen.

Complete results the Lady Pirates were: Team – 409-398 = 807, tenth. Individual – Natalie Willingham: 102-95 = 197; Chelsey Childress: 98-102 = 200; Katie Carpenter: 107-98 = 205; Alyssa Gapinski: 102-103=205; Birkley Langen: 110-112 = 222.
