NEW "VOICE OF THE PIRATES" CALLING FOOTBALL, VOLLEYBALL GAMES

"Voice of the Pirates" Josh Jones

Granbury High School physics teacher and assistant basketball coach Josh Jones is moonlighting.

Jones is the new announcer for Pirate football and Lady Pirate volleyball and will be in the booth and courtside during home games.

“Josh is a member of our own Pirate family,” said GISD athletic director Dwight Butler. “He is extremely knowledgeable about football and volleyball.  He also has a very professional style of announcing games – the kind you would hear at the college level.”

The new announcer proved his ability to think quickly during a volleyball match versus the Stephenville Honeybees on September 6.  When there were technical difficulties with playing a pre-recorded national anthem, Jones didn’t bat an eye – he led the crowd while singing The Star-Spangled Banner to perfection.
