The win marked the team’s second win of the season and first in District 7-4A action – and their second-straight home victory.
The Pirate offense amassed 525 yards, led by running back Brandon Davis. The GHS senior scored five times with four coming on the ground and another on a pass from quarterback Nick Fotu. Davis’s 221 rushing yards on 19 carries brings his season total to 673 yards.
Also scoring was Justice Love on a 21-yard run in the first quarter. Kicker Michael Horn was perfect on all six extra-point efforts as well as a 22-yard field goal.
Fotu completed 13 of 18 passes for 188 yards, and backup Slade Boynton also threw a pass for an additional two yards. Players with receiving yardage were Clayton Adams (3-68), Conner Green (1-40), Travis Hord (4-39), Davis (2-30), Love (1-6), Tyler Titus (1-5), and Ashton Guerra (1-2).
In all, the Pirates had 335 rushing yards. In addition to Davis, those with rushing yardage were Love (6-32), Fotu (6-31), Trevor Wilson (2-27), Dakota Morgan (3-12), Briley Wood (1-8), Mike Milson (1-2), Boynton (1-1), and Nate Milson (1-1).
