The junior varsity Pirate Soccer purple team from Granbury High School proved victorious after winning a tournament in Brownwood on February 4, 2012.

The squad posted wins over Abilene Wylie (3-1) and Frenship B team (3-0) and also tied Stephenville (1-1) to advance to the championship game, defeating Frenship A team (2-2 at end of regulation) in a shootout – with Payton Durant and Juan Martinez each scoring and goalkeeper Jason Davis successfully defending the Pirate goal.
