The Pirate Golf team is bound for regionals after winning the District 7-4A tournament championship on April 10-11, 2012, at Squaw Valley Golf Course in Glen Rose.
 
Along with the district title, the Granbury A team earned a trip to the Class 4A Region I tournament to be held on April 16-17 at Diamondback Golf Club in Abilene. The top two teams and the top two medalists not on those teams advance to regionals.
 
The five-member team shot 569 over the two-day tournament. On an individual basis,  junior Travis Benson was the top player of the tourney. Freshman Zac Wall, junior Collin McCann, and junior Austin Kinsey placed fourth, sixth, and seventh respectively.
 
As a results of their scores, Benson and Wall qualified for the first team all-district, while McCann and Kinsey were on the second team.
 
The B team shot 649 overall to finish in fourth place and ahead of the top squads from Arlington Seguin, Cleburne, Crowley, and Joshua.
 
Complete results for both teams were: 
  • Granbury A:  Team – 283-286 = 569. Individual – Travis Benson: 69-68 = 137, first; Zac Wall: 69-72 = 141, fourth; Collin McCann: 73-69 = 142, sixth; Austin Kinsey: 72-78 = 150, seventh; Derek Williams: 85-77 = 162.
  • Granbury B:  Team – 322-327 = 649, fourth. Individual – Briggs Berry: 78-82 = 160; Baker White: 79-81 = 160; Patrick Wilson: 81-79 = 160; Riley Summer: 84-85 = 169; Mason Meek: 100-89 = 189.
  • Other Individual Players: Davis McDuff: 77-83 = 160; Justin Eason: 85-88 = 173; Jagar Mellencamp: 88-95 = 183.
