Granbury Pirate basketball boys were honored at an awards banquet on April 4, 2012, at the Granbury Resort Conference Center.
Head coach David Breazeale handed out the following team awards:
- Most Valuable Player: Connor Adams
- Offensive Most Valuable Player: Connor Adams
- Defensive Most Valuable Player: Zach Villa
- Fighting Heart Award: Ryan Pinson
- Most Improved Player: Ryan Maldonado
Players receiving District 7-4A all-district honors were: first team – Connor Adams; second team – Clayton Adams, Zach Villa; honorable mention – Clay Brawner, Brendon Clough, Ryan Maldonado.
Season statistical leaders were also recognized: assists – Zach Villa; charges taken – Connor Adams; field goal percentage – Connor Adams; free throw percentage – Clayton Adams; rebounds – Connor Adams; three-point percentage – Brendon Clough.
Five players also received Academic All-District recognition: Connor Adams, Joe Brewer, Brendon Clough, Randy Martin, and Ryan Pinson.
Other members of the varsity squad were Lucas Baker, Jimmy Hodges, Hayden Whitley, and Briley Wood.
Sub-varsity squads were also recognized for their participation in the basketball program:
- Junior Varsity: Jeremiah Avery, Tristan Gilmore, Kevin Hennard, David Henney, J.D. Hohnstreiter, Ryan Hudson, Ben Hughes, Kory Rafferty, Jacob Taylor, Hunter West, Tanner Winn
- Freshman Purple: Will Brawner, Phillip Dixon, Nick Doughty, Mitchell May, Justin Nelson, Taylor Petty, Jacob Rose, Ryan Suitt, Aaron Villa
- Freshman Gold: Jared Adcock, Michael Carey, Julio Castillo, Brady Dean, Zach Hargrove, Grant Hartman, Mason McCann, Shivam Patel, Ryan Riley, Mason Strickland, William Wayman, Hunter Wright
Breazeale was assisted by Josh Jones, junior varsity coach Greg Belleau, freshman coaches Blaze Pendleton and Will Hedrick, and athletic trainer Andy Rankin.
