Acton Middle School teacher Mary Cutlip made an unusual charitable donation during the school talent show on May 25, 2012 – the last day of school.

Three students had the opportunity to cut Cultip's hair, which was donated to the national organization Locks for Love.

The charitable agency provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis. According to the organization, the prostheses help the children to restore their self-esteem and their confidence, enabling them to face the world and their peers.

Cutlip has been growing her hair out since she last donated in 2009.
