It was totally retro 1980’s at Mambrino School during the annual ice cream social and game night on September 14, 2010.
In addition to the ice cream treats, students and parents were entertained by staff members - decked out as interesting characters in elaborate costumes - playing the long-running game show "Match Game."
Joining in for the game were teachers Deidre Browder, Shannon Chancellor, Sharon Daugherty, Katie Jordan, Shelley Parker, Melinda Robertson, Kim Swann, Joe Paul Thompson, Suzan Turner, assistant principal Melinda Parker, and instructional specialist Kathy Carmichael.
Serving as the host was Larry Hooper, while principal Rebecca Johnson assisted as “Vanette” – the long-lost cousin of Vanna White from “Wheel of Fortune” fame.
This was the third year that the school ventured into the game show realm for the social. Last year, the choice was the popular “Family Feud.”
The event was sponsored by the Mambrino PTO. Prior to the social, parents and students had an opportunity to visit a book fair in the school library.
