I just wanted to share with everyone a truly awesome book that I have read recently:  Prisoners in the Palace:  How Victoria Became Queen with the Help of Her Maid, a Reporter, and a Scoundrel.  A Novel of Intrigue and Romance. by Michaela MacColl

Prisoners of the Palace

For those of you who like historical fiction, this book is for you.  The book centers around the intrigue of Princess Victoria inheriting the throne of Great Britain.  It is told from the perspective of a young woman, tragically and suddenly orphaned, who has to change status from that of a member of the gentry to a servant - a maid for Princess Victoria.  Both girls are in their late teens and are having to learn to deal with the life they have been given.  When Liza, the unexpected maid, finds a plot set up to keep Victoria from inheriting the throne, she makes it her mission to help and endear herself to the young princess.  With the help of a quick-witted street urchin that has made his home in the palace and a young newspaperman determined to make his way in the world, they will do whatever they can to help Victoria secure her rightful place as Queen of Great Britain.

I can't say enough about this book. This book is going to be one of those that transcends time and even future generations will enjoy.

Ta ta for now!
