Fourth graders from Mambrino School had the opportunity to see how state government works during a field trip to the Texas state capitol in Austin on February 23, 2012.

In addition to the capitol building, the group also visited the Texas Capitol Visitors Center, the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum, and the Texas State Cemetery.

The students were learning about the Texas political system as part of social studies curriculum objectives that outline goals for fourth graders understanding certain aspects of the state’s government, economy, and history.
