I began my career as a Behavior Analyst in the U.S. Air Force in 1976. I spent four years attached to the 67th Tactical Wing working with adults who had behavioral problems (both NCO and Officer ranks). My job as an analyst working with adults on work-site environments provided me the ground work to help students find an appropriate job and help them understand that their attitude toward employment and others is 90% of any work site situation. In 1980 I began working with children with disabilities and behavioral disabilities/problems. The children captured my heart and mind. I truly desired to help parents understand that their children could reach unimaginable heights. I had a child who had his own disabilities and it was easy for me to see the parental side of things as well as the interventionist side. I taught school in a DAEP (discipline program) for 10 years. In 2003 I came to Granbury to teach GHS students skills for life.
