February 2016 - Construction Progress Presentation
Scott Barnes representing the Buford Thompson Company, the district’s construction manager, reported to the school board on February 22, 2016. He outlined progress on current bond construction progress for the high school, auditorium, locker rooms, and elementary gyms. Work continues this spring, with several individual projects nearing completion. Efforts will be in full force during the summer to get ready for the new school year.

July 2015 - Construction Progress Presentation
Scott Barnes, construction manager for the Buford-Thompson Company overseeing the bond construction, updated the school board on July 20, 2015, about the high school transformation project. Work continues on the ninth grade addition, fine arts renovation and addition, cafeteria, learning commons (library), campus office, special education classrooms, locker rooms in gymnasiums and field house, and parking areas. Many areas will be complete for the start of school in August, but several areas will continue through August 2016. -
June 2015 - Construction Progress Presentation
Scott Barnes, construction manager for the Buford-Thomas Company, reported to the school board on June 8, 2015, about progress for the transformation of Granbury High School. Construction continues on the ninth grade addition set for completion in August. Classroom space will be utilized by upperclassmen during the 2015-16 school year while construction continues on other parts of the building. This area will also house campus administration offices. -
March 2015 - Construction Progress Presentation
Scott Barnes, construction manager for the Buford Thompson Company, reported to the GISD school board on March 23, 2015, that construction at Granbury High School was going well despite weather delays from recent snow days and rain. Subcontractors are about two weeks behind on the new ninth grade wing but had adjusted the construction schedule to meet August 2015 occupancy. Steel work is underway to allow for the second floor construction to commence. -
March 2015 - Furniture Phase 1 Presentation
On March 23, 2015, GISD school board trustees approved a $1.2 million expenditure to fund furnishings at the high school: the new ninth grade wing (including student desks and chairs, presentation stations for classroom, and bookshelves); new teacher areas including desks, chairs, work tables, and conference area; cafeteria chairs and tables; coffee bar; office spaces and reception areas in the new ninth grade wing; and the new learning commons area (library).
