Jeff Meador became the Granbury ISD communications director in January 2007.
In this role, Meador works with all schools and the administration to communicate activities and other news to parents, the community, and employees. He serves as the district’s media spokesperson, maintains the district website and social media, and coordinates special events among other duties.
Prior to making the transition to public education, Meador worked at Tarleton State University as the public policy information officer at the Center for Agribusiness Excellence, a data mining research program studying the federal crop insurance program. He previously served as legislative assistant to Congressman Charles W. Stenholm in Washington D.C., as manager of Stenholm’s re-election campaigns, and as a regulatory affairs manager in Sprint’s government relations office in Austin.
A Tarleton graduate, Meador received a Bachelor of Arts in government and history and later earned a Master of Arts in history and political science. In 2021, Meador earned an Executive Master of Public Service through the Clinton School of Public Service, a part of the University of Arkansas.
Meador received the F.L. Elder Award for Outstanding Reporting in Education from the Texas ASCD in October 2013. He was named Optimist of the Year in 2009 and 2012 and an honoree at the Tarleton Alumni Academic Forum in 1999. Meador participated with Leadership Granbury during its 2007-08 class and is also a member of the Sons of the American Revolution – Brazos Valley Chapter. He was also honored in 2017 by the Hood County Retired School Personnel Association with two awards for exemplary reporting on education.
In the community, Meador is a member of First United Methodist Church. He currently serves as vice president of Operation School Supplies, secretary for the Granbury Theatre Company, and a member of the Hood County Substance Abuse Council. Meador also volunteers with the Granbury ISD Education Foundation. His prior charitable work includes service on the boards of directors for the Granbury Optimist Club, Boys and Girls Club of Hood County, Hood County Christmas for Children, and Ruth's Place and the board of managers for the Hood County YMCA.
Meador is a member of the Texas School Public Relations Association, National School Public Relations Association, Public Relations Society of America, and the Association of Texas Professional Educators.
In 2019, Meador received Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) through PRSA's Universal Accreditation Board.
