June 24, 2016 - Chad Zschiesche is the new head coach for the Granbury Pirate football team after his appointment was made official by the Granbury ISD Board of Trustees during a special meeting on June 24, 2016.

June 24, 2016 - Granbury FFA entomology team members, who won second place in the nation for the Career Development Event judging contest, were recognized by Granbury ISD school board trustees on June 20, 2016.

June 24, 2016 - Rhonda Naylor, social studies teacher at STARS Accelerated High School, was honored by Granbury ISD school board trustees on June 20, 2016. Naylor was recognized for a top educator award from the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

June 24, 2016 - Landon Gray, a 2016 graduate of Granbury High School who was a stand-out on the Granbury Pirate baseball team, was named to the Class 5A All-State team by the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association.

GHS Boys Golf - Class 5A State Tournament
April 25-26, 2016 - Freshman golfer Jake Holbrook shot 75 (36-39) and birdied two holes to finish up the second day of the Class 5A state golf tourney at Wolfdancer Golf Club in Lost Pines on Tuesday. Holbrook's total score was 155 (80-75) for the two-day tournament.

April 20-21, 2016 - Two GHS high jumpers are headed to the regional track meet. Gabbie Nunn was the area champion, winning this week's competition at Fort Worth ISD's Herman Clark Stadium. Brent Jackson won third place in the boys event.

April 18, 2016 - Beau Pritchard and Bryten Otting def. El Paso Riverside 6-1, 6-2 in opening boys doubles match at the Region I-5A tennis tournament in Lubbock on Monday. The boys later fell to top-seed Abilene Cooper 6-1, 6-2 in the tourney quarterfinals.
