Miler's Club for 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th graders! Be ready to run!!!
At Mambrino School, we have Miler’s Club. This is our school running club. The purpose of our running club is to promote running and walking as a cardio-vascular activity that students can do even when there is no one else around to play with. These activities will help students to maintain a healthier lifestyle.
We will be running 3-4 times per six week grading period when the weather allows (below 100 and above 40). Students are always allowed to walk or run depending on how they are feeling for that day.
In order to keep track of how many laps each student runs, we put a dot on the back of their hand each time they go around the track. At the end of the period, we record those dots.
At the end of each grading period, students receives recognition and a "toe token" when they have run a total of 5 miles, and again at each 5 mile mark! Toe tokens go on their shoe string. If students want to wear a shoe string as a necklace to keep their toe tokens on, that would be fine. Many students keep the toe tokens from year to year to show their accomplishments!
If your son or daughter likes to participate in activities like a 5K or 10K, then they can get credit for that as well. All they have to do is bring me the bib with their name on it from the event that they participated in.For a list of area races, see Upcoming Family Fitness Opportunities.
