    Basic Expectations by Six Weeks

     

    First 6 Weeks

    • Adjusting to school
    • Going to the bathroom independently
    • Follows basic dirtections
    • Learning classroom safety(scissors...)

    Second 6 Weeks

    • Identifies themselves by first name
    • Begins to gain control of crayons/coloring
    • Counts to 10
    • Names 5 colors
    • Identifies circle and square
    • Creates AB pattern(red, blue, red, blue)
    • Holds scissors correctly
    • Knows how old they are

    Third 6 weeks

    • Names 8 colors
    • Names 4 shapes(circle, square, triangle, rectangle)
    • Counts 12
    • Counts at least 4 objects
    • Recognizes written numbers 0-4
    • Writes first name
    • Creates AABB pattern(redd, red, blue, blue)
    • Identifies 10 letters
    • Knows last name

    Fourth 6 Weeks

    • Names 10 colors
    • Understands concept that numbers are different from letters
    • Names shapes(circle, square, triangle, rectangle, rhombus)
    • Counts to 15
    • Counts at least 6 objects
    • Recognizes written numbers(0-6)
    • Identifies 12 uppercase letters
    • Identifies 10 lowercase letters

    Fifth 6 Weeks

    • Names all 10 colors
    • Names all shapes
    • Counts to 20
    • Counts 8 objects
    • Recognizes written numbers (0-8)
    • Identifies 15 uppercase letters
    • Identifies 15 lowercase letters
    • Recognizes 10 letter sounds
    • Colors with in the lines, uses multiple colors

    End of the Year

    • Names all 10 colors
    • Names all shapes
    • Counts to 30
    • Counts 10 objects
    • Recognizes numbers (0-9)
    • Writes first name
    • Identifies 20 uppercase letters
    • Identifies 20 lowercase letters
    • Recognizes 20 letter sounds
    • Can say how old they are using words
    • Correctly holds and has control of crayons and scissors
