• Abu Dhabi World Finals - November 13th-23rd

                         
     
    In their second season in the F1 in Schools competition, Affinity F1, finished 2nd place at the national competition. This qualified them to participate at the World Finals in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The team flew into Dubai, and traveled 60 miles to the capital city of Abu Dhabi where the spent the next several days competing at Ferrari World just down from Yas Marina Circuit. Outside of the competition, the F1 in Schools staff took every participating team to the Grand Zayed Mosque, Yas Waterworld waterpark, and a pit tour at the Marina Circuit where students could watch and interact with Formula One pit crew and drivers. Ferrari World was full of memorabilia, the world's fastest roller-coaster, F1 racing simulators, and many more attractions to capture the heart of racing enthusiasts. The team won an award for Sponsorship and Marketing which was sponsored by Caterham Racing. In their down time between the last day of competition and the final day's Grand Prix, the team traveled to Dubai to experience more of what the United Arab Emirates had to offer. The team went on a desert safari where the rode up and down sand dunes, rode on camels, and enjoyed a night of entertainment and local food. They were able to go to the world's largest mall and another mall that had indoor ski slopes.  The rode the elevator up to the top of the Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest building.
