Our English class uses the HMH Intro into Literature Texas on a weekly basis and sometimes a daily basis.  We read the various selections, analyze them, learn new vocabulary, and create a written response to most.  Most assignments will be self-directed as each student's analysis can vary.  The textbook has great reading selections and is a well-rounded curriculum.  I encourage you to read along with your student.
