TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE ASSISTANT COMMISSIONER TO OBSERVE GISD SUMMER LUNCH PROGRAM IN ACTION

CROSSLAND NINTH GRADE CENTER BUILDING LEADERS THROUGH SUMMER ACADEMY
June 28, 2010 - Crossland Ninth Grade Center held a two-week summer academy to develop leadership skills among incoming freshmen. Called "Mission I’m Possible," the academy was held June 7-18, 2010, with almost one hundred students participating.

June 22, 2010 - Granbury students and staff are mourning for Jesse Albertson, a Granbury Middle School student who passed away on June 21, 2010.

COMPLETION RATE SHOWS SOLID RECOGNIZED PERFORMANCE
June 21, 2010 - The completion rate for Granbury students has increased substantially, according to a report issued by the Texas Education Agency on June 18, 2010. The report makes it a strong possibility that both Granbury ISD and Granbury High School will receive Recognized state accountability ratings.

June 21, 2010 - Granbury High School student Blake Bridges was named an Outstanding Soloist following his vocal performance at the Texas State Solo and Ensemble Contest held May 29 and 31, 2010, in Austin.

June 15, 2010 - Leta Andrews, coach of the Lady Pirate Basketball team at Granbury High School, was inducted into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame during a ceremony held on June 12, 2010, in Knoxville, Tennessee.

June 7, 2010 - STARS Academy held Spring graduation exercises on the evening of June 4, 2010, at Acton United Methodist Church. 51 students received high school diplomas during the ceremony.
