Jamie Robinson Named Principal of Granbury High School

Granbury ISD announced the appointment of Jamie Robinson as the new principal of Granbury High School. He joins GHS after the last two successful years as principal of Boerne Middle School South in Boerne ISD.

Robinson is taking over for Jeremy Ross, who served as principal for GHS since 2010 and recently announced he is stepping down to be the assistant principal for academics at Cleburne High School.

“We are very excited to welcome Jamie Robinson to Granbury High School to lead our faculty and students towards their greatest potential,” GISD Superintendent Dr. Jeremy Glenn said. “He is a dedicated and proven leader, and he will be a tremendous asset to Granbury High School and the district.”

“I would also like to thank Jeremy Ross for his thirteen years of leadership and commitment to Granbury ISD, serving as principal of GHS,” Dr. Glenn added. “We wish him all the best in his next professional chapter.”

Robinson served as principal at Boerne Middle School South for two years and has been a principal in Boerne ISD since 2015. Prior to Boerne Middle School South, he was tasked with opening Van Raub Elementary as the school’s first principal. Mr. Robinson, an educator for over 20 years, began in Boerne ISD as an assistant principal, and then was principal at Fair Oaks Ranch Elementary School from 2015-17. Before moving to Boerne ISD, Mr. Robinson served as an assistant principal at Walzem Elementary (Northeast ISD) and Bradford Elementary (San Angelo, TX). Robinson started his public education career in the classroom in 2001, where he was a teacher for 10 years having taught 2nd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grades in San Angelo ISD before moving to campus administration.

  • Team presenter at the 2022 National Model Schools Conference in Orlando, Florida for Boerne ISD (one of eight districts selected nationwide) 
  • Successful academic and extracurricular progress at multiple campuses
  • Member of the Fair Oaks Ranch Rotary Club - Paul Harris Fellow recipient
  • Thompson Executive Leadership Institution 2022-23 Principal Cohort
  • Created the process manual for opening three new Boerne ISD campuses 
  • National recognition for unique campus initiatives
  • Developing multiple staff for their next roles and opportunities for career advancement
  • Nominated three times for the HEB Excellence in Education Principal Award
  • 2012 Finalist and Recipient of the Angelo State Distinguished Graduate Student Award
  • Nominated for the DisneyHand Award for Creative Teaching

“I am thrilled to join Granbury ISD and serve as the principal of Granbury High School,” Robinson said. “I am thankful to get to work alongside great educators, families, and community members who focus on helping our students reach their full potential. I look forward to creating a welcoming and motivating environment that encourages all of our students and staff to be successful every day.” 

Robinson, who was inspired by great teachers to become the first college graduate in his family, earned his Bachelor of Science and Master’s Degrees from Angelo State University, as well as completed his Texas Superintendent Certification through Lamar University. He has been married to his wife, Sheryl, for 24 years. They have a son, Sterling, who attends the University of North Texas and a daughter, Ireland, who attends the University of Texas San Antonio.  He believes in bringing out the best in others and his educational mission is: “So others may learn.”
