Granbury ISD is proud to announce that Viola Allen, a senior at Granbury High School, has signed her National Letter of Intent to continue her competitive marksmanship career with the TCU Rifle Team following graduation.
Allen has established herself as one of the most accomplished shooters in the nation during her high school career, earning recognition for her precision, consistency, and leadership both on and off the range.
Among her many achievements, Allen is a national record holder, setting a national standing record in the MCJROTC precision air rifle event with a perfect 200-point score and 19 X’s, with all shots exceeding 10.2 except one. She has also played a key role in leading the Granbury Rifle Team to success at major competitions, contributing to an eight-time national championship team title.
Individually, Allen has demonstrated elite-level performance on the national stage, earning second place at the National Marine Corps Service Rifle Championship and a bronze medal at the Winter Air Gun Championship. She has also been selected to compete at the USA Shooting Junior Olympics and the American Legion Nationals, two of the most prestigious events in youth marksmanship.
In addition to her competitive success, Allen has been a respected leader within the MCJROTC program throughout her high school career, exemplifying discipline, character, and service.
Allen will join TCU this fall as a member of the Horned Frogs rifle program. Granbury ISD congratulates Viola and her family on this outstanding achievement and wishes her continued success at TCU and beyond.
