Granbury MCJROTC Wins 4th Consecutive Overall Championship at Longhorn Rodeo

The Granbury High School Marine Corps JROTC Physical Fitness Team captured 1st Place Overall at the 11th Annual Longhorn Rodeo hosted by W.T. White High School on February 21, 2026 — marking the fourth consecutive year Granbury has earned the Overall Championship.

The Longhorn Rodeo is a demanding JROTC field meet designed to build leadership, camaraderie, and teamwork among Dallas–Fort Worth area programs. Cadets competed in seven events: Tire Flip, Tug-of-War, Bus Pull, Rope Bridge, Obstacle Course, Ruck March, and Ironman/Ironwoman.

Granbury’s results included:

  • 🥇 1st Place Overall
  • 🥇 1st Place – Female Tug of War
  • 🥇 1st Place – Ruck March
  • 🥇 1st Place – Tire Flip
  • 🥈 2nd Place – Ironman
  • 🥈 2nd Place – Rope Bridge
  • 🥉 3rd Place – Obstacle Course

“These cadets earned this,” said 1stSgt Guerra, USMC (Ret.), Marine Instructor. “They show up early, they train hard, and they refuse to quit on each other. Four years in a row isn’t luck — it’s discipline, teamwork, and heart. I’m proud of the way they competed and the way they represented Granbury.”

With another overall championship secured, Granbury MCJROTC continues to set the standard for physical readiness and leadership excellence across North Texas.
