Granbury ISD Names LaTisha Griffin as Chief Financial Officer

Granbury ISD has named LaTisha Griffin as the district’s next Chief Financial Officer. Following board approval at the April school board meeting, Griffin will officially assume her role and lead the district’s financial operations beginning in June 2026.

Griffin takes over for Emmett Whitefield, who recently announced his retirement after 25 years of service to Granbury ISD.

Griffin brings extensive experience in school finance and operations, most recently serving as Director of Budget & Finance for Duncanville ISD. In that role, she oversaw financial services for a district with a budget exceeding $140 million, including budget development, accounting, payroll, audit, and financial reporting.

“LaTisha Griffin is a proven leader who understands how to connect financial strategy to student success,” said Dr. Courtney Morawski, Superintendent of Granbury ISD. “Her experience, attention to detail, and commitment to transparency will serve Granbury ISD well as we continue to be strong stewards of our resources while supporting high-quality instruction across the district.”

Throughout her career, Griffin has aligned financial strategy with district priorities and campus needs, leading efforts to reduce deficits, strengthen internal controls, and improve financial accuracy while maintaining compliance with state and federal requirements.

Prior to her role in finance, Griffin served as Director of UIL Compliance and District Facilities in Duncanville ISD, overseeing districtwide operations and facility use. She also spent four years as Associate Principal of Operations at Duncanville High School, managing campus systems for more than 4,600 students and 500 staff while improving attendance, discipline, and efficiency.

Her earlier experience includes leadership roles at Cedar Hill High School as Dean of Career and Technical Education, Innovative Programs and Counselors, as well as serving as a business instructor and head softball coach, providing a broad understanding of both instructional and operational systems.

“I am honored and excited to join Granbury ISD and serve this community,” said Griffin. “I look forward to working alongside district leadership and the Board of Trustees to ensure our financial practices remain strong, transparent, and focused on supporting students and staff.”

Griffin holds a Master of Business Administration from Arizona State University and a bachelor’s degree in marketing with a minor in accounting from the University of Tampa. She also holds multiple certifications, including Principal EC–12 and Superintendent EC–12.

She is the proud mother of two children, Tavion, 22, and Sienna, 12. In her free time, Griffin enjoys watching Shark Tank, Texas Rangers baseball, and volleyball.
