Acton Elementary School Named 2026 NAESP Student Council School of Excellence

Granbury ISD is proud to announce that Acton Elementary School has been named a 2026 Student Council School of Excellence by the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP) and the American Student Council Association (ASCA).

The national recognition honors exemplary elementary and middle-level schools whose student councils demonstrate an outstanding commitment to the four pillars of ASCA: community service, student leadership, citizenship, and school spirit.

Acton Elementary was one of just 54 schools nationwide selected for the 2026 honor, highlighting the campus’s strong tradition of empowering students to lead, serve others, and positively impact their school community.

Under the leadership of Principal Maggie Walton and Student Council Advisor Haley Briggs, students at Acton Elementary have embraced opportunities to strengthen campus culture through service projects, leadership initiatives, and activities that build pride and connection across the school.

“We are incredibly proud of our students and grateful for the leadership of Haley Briggs in helping guide this outstanding organization,” said Maggie Walton. “This recognition reflects the heart of Acton Elementary. Our students lead by example, care deeply about others, and show every day that leadership has no age limit.”

The Student Council School of Excellence Award is presented annually during National Student Leadership Week, which celebrates the positive impact student councils have in schools across the country.

Granbury ISD congratulates the students, staff, and families of Acton Elementary School on this outstanding national honor and for continuing to represent the district with excellence.
