August 2026 Board Meeting Achievement Spotlight

AUGUST BOARD MEETING ACHIEVEMENT SPOTLIGHT

Granbury ISD was proud to recognize several outstanding individuals and community partners during the August 17 Board of Trustees meeting!

Lifesaving Heroes
The Board recognized five individuals whose quick actions helped save a man’s life last month. Their courage, teamwork and willingness to step in during a critical moment made an incredible difference. We are proud to recognize these five local heroes, Chuck Matlock, Chris Taylor, Mark Davis, Sharon Rains, and Danny Bloodworth, and thank them for their lifesaving actions.

Educator of the Year
Congratulations to Heather Dollins, who was recognized for receiving the 2026 Texas Association for Alternative Education (TAAE) Alternative Educator of the Year award! Granbury ISD congratulates Heather on this outstanding achievement and thanks her for the positive difference she continues to make for the students and families of STARS Accelerated High School and the entire Granbury ISD community.

Supporting the Pride of Granbury
The Board also recognized Paul Hyde with Hyde Law Firm and Hood County News and Morris Duree with Granbury Realty for their generous donations toward the Granbury High School Band’s brand-new custom-wrapped semi trailer! The new trailer will help the Pride of Granbury represent GHS and our community everywhere they go.
