SEPTEMBER 2026 BOARD MEETING ACHIEVEMENT SPOTLIGHT
At the September 2026 meeting, the Granbury ISD Board of Trustees proudly recognized several outstanding Granbury High School students for their academic achievement, leadership and service.
The pledges were proudly led by Acton Elementary students Arya Nikzad, Kennedy Nikzad, Caleb Rickman, Graham Rickman, and Zachary Rickman.
AP Scholar and AP Scholar with Honor Recognition
Nine Granbury High School students earned AP Scholar recognition from the College Board for demonstrating college-level achievement on multiple AP Exams. AP Scholars must earn scores of 3 or higher on at least three AP Exams.

Rebecca Blair, Sean Kim and Carmen Wright earned the additional distinction of AP Scholar with Honor by scoring 3 or higher on at least four AP Exams and earning an average score of at least 3.25 across all AP Exams taken.
These honors reflect the students’ hard work and willingness to challenge themselves academically, along with the support of their families, teachers, counselors and staff members.
STARS@MIT Program Selection
Bailey Stone was recognized for being selected for the prestigious Small-Town and Rural Students at MIT program. Bailey is one of only 20 students selected from more than 8,000 applicants nationwide. Through the fully funded STARS@MIT Fly-In, she will spend three days at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, Massachusetts, exploring academics and campus life while learning more about the college admissions process.

Shottenkirk Autogroup Senior of the Month
Sierra Morisette was recognized as the Shottenkirk Autogroup Senior of the Month! Sierra has maintained an A in every class while pursuing as much college credit as possible. She completed a business practicum with A+ Roofing and is currently enrolled in the engineering practicum.
Sierra has advanced to the state and international levels in DECA while holding leadership roles, including co-president. She is also vice president of the Granbury Jr. Optimist Club, president of the National Honor Society and an active leader in ministry at Stonewater Church. After graduation, Sierra plans to attend Texas A&M University to study architectural engineering.
