Tammy Molder Mendl

Tammy was born at Hood County General Hospital and attended Granbury schools for all 12 years of her education. She is the daughter of Mildred Umphress Molder and the late Milton Molder. Tammy is especially proud to be the third generation of her family to be honored as Coming Home Queen, following in the footsteps of her grandmother, Myrtle Mitchell Umphress, and her mother, Mildred Umphress Molder.

During her high school years, Tammy was a member of the varsity basketball team, served as treasurer of the Student Council, and was a varsity cheerleader. During her senior year, she was also honored to be selected as Miss Granbury High School.

Tammy has been married to her husband, Eddy Mendl, for 43 years. Together, they have two sons, J and Joseph; a daughter-in-law, Caroline; and a granddaughter, Naomi.

Tammy worked as a certified public accountant until her retirement in 2023. Today, she enjoys spending time with her church and family, competing in National 42 tournaments, and pursuing her passion for quilting. She is an AQS-certified quilt appraiser and quilt history lecturer.

Tony Lee Sledge

Tony Lee Sledge was born in Granbury in September 1957 at the old Granbury Hospital in downtown Granbury. He is the only child of Sidney and Sue Sledge and attended Granbury schools for all 12 years of his education.

During high school, Tony was active in a variety of activities. He played football from seventh through twelfth grade, was a member of the high school golf team for three years, participated in track for two years, and was involved in the Drama Club for three years.

Tony dedicated 38 years to a career as a paramedic and emergency services professional. He graduated from the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1980 and was one of the first paramedics employed in Hood County. He worked for Hood County EMS from 1977 through 1995 and served as Administrator of Emergency Services from 1982 to 1994. Throughout his career in Hood County, Tony was also committed to educating others, teaching CPR and First Aid to members of the community.

In 1995, Tony continued his career with Parker County Emergency Services, where he worked until being forced into retirement in late 2015 following a battle with cancer, a challenge he continues to face with strength and perseverance.

Tony has been married to his wife, Marla, for more than 10 years. Together, they enjoy their blended family, including Tony's son, Tyler, and his wife, Kara, and their two grandchildren, Tallen and Freya.
