Granbury ISD Announces Retirement of Executive Director of Teaching and Learning Stacie Brown

Granbury ISD announces the upcoming retirement of Stacie Brown, Executive Director of Teaching and Learning, effective December 31, 2026. Brown will conclude a distinguished 31-year career in public education, including 27 years of dedicated service to Granbury ISD.

Brown joined Granbury ISD in 1999 after starting her career as an elementary teacher in Fort Worth ISD and has served the district in numerous instructional and leadership roles throughout her career. Her experience includes serving as an instructional specialist and assistant principal at Acton Elementary School, principal at Brawner Elementary School, and principal of STEAM Academy at Mambrino. She later transitioned into district administration as Executive Director of Teaching and Learning, where she has helped guide instructional initiatives, support campus leadership, and strengthen teaching and learning across the district.

Throughout her career, Brown has been a passionate advocate for students and educators, working to create meaningful learning opportunities while supporting teachers and campus administrators in their efforts to achieve academic excellence. Her leadership and commitment to continuous improvement have made a lasting impact on the district and the countless students, families, and colleagues she has served.

"Stacie Brown has devoted her career to making a difference in the lives of students and educators, and Granbury ISD has been incredibly fortunate to benefit from her leadership for nearly three decades," said Granbury ISD Superintendent Dr. Courtney Morawski. "From her years leading campuses to her work supporting teaching and learning across the district, Stacie has always led with a servant's heart and an unwavering commitment to doing what is best for students. Her knowledge, experience, and genuine care for people have earned her the respect and admiration of colleagues throughout TeamGISD. We are deeply grateful for her many contributions and wish her nothing but happiness as she begins this well-deserved next chapter."

Reflecting on her career, Brown expressed gratitude for the relationships and experiences that have shaped her time in education.

"After more than 30 years in education with most of those years serving Granbury ISD in a variety of roles, I am truly grateful for the many opportunities I have had to serve our students, staff, and community. One of the greatest gifts of my career has been the people I have had the chance to work alongside. I have learned so much from the colleagues who have challenged me, supported me, laughed with me, and shared in both the tough times and the celebrations. The relationships built along the way are what I will remember most, and many of you have been an important part of that journey.

"I am proud of the work I have been a part of throughout my career, but even more grateful for the people with whom I have shared it. I look forward to finishing these next few months with the same commitment to our students, staff, and district that has guided me throughout my career."

As Brown prepares to conclude her service at the end of the calendar year, Granbury ISD will begin the search for its next Executive Director of Teaching and Learning. The district remains committed to building upon the strong foundation of instructional leadership and academic excellence established during Brown's tenure.

Granbury ISD extends its sincere appreciation to Brown for her 27 years of service to the district and congratulates her on an outstanding 31-year career in education.
