Granbury ISD’s EECU Customer Care Awards were presented to Acton Middle School and the Transportation Department on Tuesday, October 27, 2026
Amber Light Lilley and Matt Wells were recognized by AMS and Jonathan Layton was recognized by Transportation with the EECU Customer Care Award, which honors deserving Granbury ISD employees for their outstanding service and dedication. During the presentation, AMS Principal Jennifer Pennington and Transportation Director Brian Caruthers praised their staff members for their commitment to the district, campus, and students.
Mrs. Pennington said the following about Amber Light Lilley:
“Thank you for the extra time, effort, and heart you pour into your students each day! Your dedication to making sure they receive the support they need, while also providing meaningful, hands-on experiences, does not go unnoticed. From making apple dumplings to finding creative ways to bring learning to life, you are giving your students opportunities to learn, grow, and build skills they can use beyond the classroom.”
Mrs. Pennington said the following about Matt Wells:
“Since the first day of school, Matt has been an incredible blessing to our campus! He is a true go-getter who sees a need and immediately steps in to help without waiting to be asked. He is constantly checking in with others, asking who needs help or what he can do to make someone’s day a little easier. Matt's willingness to serve, initiative, and genuine care for those around him exemplify what it means to be a servant leader. He leads through his actions and reminds us how powerful it is to have someone who is always willing to lend a hand. We are incredibly grateful to have him as part of our school family, and he is truly deserving of the Customer Care Award!”
Mr. Caruthers said the following about Jonathan Layton:
“Jonathan is always willing to help and echoes the Granbury ISD mantra, ‘Always for the children.’”
