Granbury ISD District Transfer Guidelines for the 2026 - 2027 School Year
Please review the guidelines in their entirety before submitting a transfer request.
Parents/guardians may apply for their student(s) to transfer from their current residence-zoned campus to another campus in the district. In order for Granbury ISD to allocate campus personnel appropriately, transfer applications will only be accepted within the designated application window below. A separate transfer request form is required for each student. Approved transfers are only valid for one school year; a new transfer request must be submitted each school year.
Granbury ISD campuses accept transfers on a staff and space availability basis. Factors evaluated for transfers include, but are not limited to: building capacity, campus enrollment, growth projections, grade level enrollments, teacher allocations, professional staff allocations, and the student’s behavior and attendance records. If the evaluation concludes that staffing and/or classroom conditions cannot accommodate transfer students, the District cannot approve the transfer request. Transportation is not provided for transfer students.
Please be aware that the transfer application does not replace the Returning Student Registration OR the New Student Enrollment Application.
Application Window for ALL Transfer types: March 1, 2026 – April 30, 2026
FOR CURRENT GISD ZONED STUDENTS
- Prior to completing the online application, please have your student's attendance report AND discipline report downloaded from Skyward Family Access. Both documents are required to complete the transfer request application.
- Please complete and submit the online In-District Transfer Application.
- Transfer status notifications will be sent to parents/guardians via email by the end of June 2026.
FOR STUDENTS NOT ZONED FOR GISD
This Application Link is for students who are NOT currently zoned for any Granbury ISD campus, but would like to enroll their student into Granbury ISD for the 2026-2027 school year.
- Prior to completing the online application, please have your student's attendance report AND discipline report downloaded from your student's current Student Management System. Both documents are required to complete the transfer request application.
- Please complete and submit the online Out-of-District Transfer Application.
- Transfer status notifications will be sent to parents/guardians via email by the end of June 2026.
