Pirate Theatre students won first place in the District UIL One-Act Play competition hosted at Granbury High School on March 9-10, 2023.  

The Granbury High School thespians performed the play Find Me by Dennis Bush.  The play is under the direction of Granbury High School theater arts teachers Mark Weeks and Melissa Hutson. 

In addition to winning the District competition, the following students received individual awards.

Best Performer: Liz Heil
All-Star Cast: Mason Covert
Honorable Mention All-Star Cast: Brennan Fisher
Outstanding Tech: Shelby Parks

The One-Act Play students now advance to the Bi-District competition to be held at Chisholm Trail High School in Eagle Mountain Saginaw ISD on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, where Granbury High School Pirate Theatre will compete against One-Act teams from Arlington Heights High School, Southwest High School, Saginaw High School, Northwest High School, and Everman High School.
