Law Enforcement Forensic Science students attended the Texas Public Safety Association (TPSA) Region 1 Conference at the Tarrant County College Northwest Campus in Fort Worth on Saturday, March 25, 2023.
Granbury High School sent 7 students to compete in 5 events, including Law Enforcement, Courts, Fire, and Forensic Science. The students who competed were Matthew Arias, Travis Campbell, Phoenix Clark, Tyler Marion, Jacob Rasmussen, Skylar Rodriguez, and Lilly Wong.
Four of the students qualified for the state conference to be held April 3-5, 2023.
State Conference Qualifiers:
- Phoenix Clark, 1st place in Traffic Stop
- Jacob Rasmussen, 1st place in Fingerprint Collection & Analysis & 2nd place in 911 Call Taking
- Matthew Arias, 2nd Place in Bunker Gear Race
In addition, Lilly Wong also qualified for the state conference with her selection as Region 1 Representative on the Student Board.
Two of the students in the competition are also officers of Law Enforcement Forensic Science Association (LEFSA). Phoenix Clark serves as President, while Jacob Rasmussen serves as the Vice President and Treasurer of the campus's student organization.
