STARS Accelerated High School honored the first student who completed all coursework as well as all state requirements to earn their high school diploma during an informal ceremony on August 17, 2021.
Lillie Davis is the first graduate of the 2021-22 school year, according to principal Margaret Rodriquez. She will be among those invited to participate in fall graduation exercises to be held this December.
Davis starts her college education on August 19 at Tarleton State University, where she will be studying education and theater.
An alternative academic high school that is part of Granbury ISD, STARS provides an optional setting with flexibility and personalized self-paced courses for high school students whose needs are not met in the traditional school. The acronym stands for Self-Motivated Teens Achieving Responsibility and Success.
Over one thousand students have graduated from STARS since its founding in 1994.
