The Granbury Pirates are gearing up for the 2019 football season, according to a new schedule released by the district athletic department. 

For the 2019 season, the Pirates will continue to compete in the new Division I of Class 5A, which is was split at the beginning of the 2018 season into two divisions based on student enrollment.  District 3 opponents are Azle, Brewer, Crowley, Fort Worth Arlington Heights, Fort Worth South Hills, Saginaw, Saginaw Boswell, and Saginaw Chisholm Trail.  

The Pirates will travel to Stephenville for a scrimmage at Tarleton Memorial Stadium on Friday, August 23 at 7:00 P.M. and then kick off the regular season the following week hosting the Weatherford Kangaroos.  This opening contest will begin at 7:30 P.M. on Friday, August 30. 

In addition to Weatherford, home games will feature the Pirates taking on Azle (Friday, September 13), Fort Worth Arlington Heights (Friday, October 4), Saginaw Boswell (Friday, October 18), and Brewer (Friday, November 1).  All home games will be at Johnny Perkins Field at Pirate Stadium beginning at 7:00 P.M. 

Homecoming 2019 will be September 30-October 4, culminating with the Friday night football game versus the Arlington Heights Yellwjackets.  Other homecoming activities will be announced later in the year. 

The team will travel for five matchups.  Seagoville (Friday, September 6 at 7:30 P.M.), Fort Worth South Hills (Friday, September 27), Crowley (Thursday, October 10), Saginaw Chisholm Trail (Friday, October 25), and Saginaw (Friday, November 8).  These games will all begin at 7:00 P.M. unless otherwise noted. 

The open week with no game will be Friday, September 20. 

Season tickets and Gold Cards will be available in August.
