GISD OFFERING MIDDLE SCHOOL SOCCER AND TENNIS THIS SPRING

GISD Soccer & Tennis

Granbury ISD will be offering soccer and tennis at Acton Middle School and Granbury Middle School beginning in Spring 2020. 

The two sports will be open to seventh and eighth graders and will begin on Monday, April 6. 

A parent information meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 17 in the Granbury High School auditorium.  The tennis meeting will be at 5:30 P.M. followed by the soccer meeting at 6:00 P.M. 

All practices, games, and tournaments for both sports will be after school from 4:45-5:45 P.M.  The evening activity bus will be available for transportation home at 6:00 P.M. 

The school will provide game uniforms, transportation to games and tournaments, as well as soccer and tennis balls.  Students will be responsible for workout clothes and shoes plus shin guards for soccer and tennis racquets. 

Students must complete an athletic physical and comply with district’s athletic code of conduct and drug testing program.

Coaching the sports will be: 

  • AMS – Jacob Herbold, soccer; Landry Mullins, tennis
  • GMS – Edgar Sanchez, soccer; Karl Kreusel, tennis

Overseeing the new athletic offerings will be GHS head coaches Timothy Brewer (tennis), Doug Kissinger (boys soccer), and David Winkleman (girls soccer).
